If you see a DE error on the display of an LG washing machine, this is accompanied by a complete stop of the unit before switching to spin or rinse. This can happen just in the middle of a program execution. If you try to start the device again, the cycle does not start. It immediately knocks out a fault code. A DE error means that, for some reason, the unit door is not locked. Before calling the wizard, you can try to deal with this yourself.
The hatch may not close because foreign objects interfere with it. Probably a piece of clothing stuck between him and the washer. If this is the case, remove what is in the way and rerun the program. Check if a foreign object has got into the tongue of the locking mechanism of the door - it happens that it does not close precisely for this reason. The error may be lit because the hatch did not close tightly. Just open it and slam it shut again harder. The problem also occurs due to a temporary software failure. It is fixed by restarting the washing machine. To do this, it is disconnected from the outlet and stays like this for 10-15 minutes, and then starts again from scratch.
If the DE error does not disappear after a reboot, this indicates such problems:
Breaking | Causes | How to eliminate |
No door blocking. | The hatch blocking device broke. | Installation of a new UBL. |
Washing stops in the middle, when restarted, it gives an error. There may be a burning smell. | Failure of the control unit. | Soldering of burned-out elements of the control unit. |
The door does not close. | The hatch handle broke. | Installing a new handle or adjustment or replacement. |
